For brand new start-up’s, the following checklist may be a good way to evaluate where you stand and where you are headed as a new entrepreneur. Answer the following questions openly and honestly:


Problem Solving- do you respond well to innovative ways of resolving an issues and opportunities?

Establishing Goals- can you visualize a desired out come and implement steps to get you there?

Confidence- do you believe in what you are selling or the service that you are providing?

Risks- are you able to abandon old methods in hopes of establishing a new system?

Organized- are you able to manage and maintain records, files and data spreadsheets?

Persistent- can you see yourself tenaciously prospecting for new business?

Communication- do you have the patience required to adequately listen & communicate to others?

Leader- can you lead in an inspiring and motivational way that will empower your employees?

After completing this checklist, jot down some notes on each area that needs improvement. Even if you personally feel that none of the above areas require improving, you must learn that there is always room for improvement. Locate new ways to improve upon yourself through useful books, online resources and social forums. Enhancing your own interpersonal skills with ultimately contribute towards a healthier work environment which translates into better business.
